Feature: Whistler features wild zoo prior to Winter Olympic Games

WHISTLER, Canada, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Whistler, the renowned skiing resort in North America, boasts itself of the skiing venues for the Vancouver Olympics. That is supposed to get you familiarized with the skiing pearl, but what Whistler impresses more these days is the title of wild zoo for animals.
The lynx is what has been seen by a lot at least twice within the latest three days. The wild bobcat is popping up again on Wednesday in the finish line for the men's Olympic downhill Omega Replica Watches course during the first official training at Whistler Creekside, announcing him the deserved mascot of Winter Olympics.
The lynx jumped through the fence of skiing course and idled towards the woods with arrogance, turning blind eyes to the athletes and media staff hustling only 20 meters away.

According to Chris Doyle from the Convervation Officer Service, the distinctive North American wildcat, known for its tufted ears, is quite common around Whistler.
"Usually they're doing their own thing, not interacting with people," said Doyle.
Doyle said the animals are usually not a threat to people, and in the case of Wednesday's sighting, the biggest risk may have been a skier striking the animal while racing down the course.
As John Gibson, the press manager of Sliding Center, suggested, wild lynx, the much larger and more ferocious cougar, lives in the forests and mountains surrounding Whistler but is shy, elusive and rarely seen.
Gibson has been working here two years and it's only the second time he has seen a lynx, but it's publicly spotted twice within the last three days, which leads you to think of it's a special way of welcome or maybe strangers expelling hints.
Black bears are also common summer visitors to the area surrounding the Sliding Centre, which will host luge, skeleton and bobsleigh. So far, the new comers are not honored to see the large animal, who is probably in hiberation in its cozy cave, but bear signs can be seen everywhere, saying like "bear, cautions", "do not leave garbage bin outside, a garbage bear is a dead bear", "Whistler is a bear country", etc.
